Terms and Conditions

A note before you read
These terms exist to make sure everyone knows where they stand — not to create distance between us and our players. We’ve written them in plain language. If anything is unclear, write to us at info@isledik.org and we’ll explain it personally.
1. Who we are
Isledik is a board game competition club based in London, United Kingdom. We organise tournaments, league play, and community events for board game players of all levels.

2. What these terms cover
These terms and conditions apply to everyone who uses the Isledik website (isledik.org), registers for an event, purchases a membership or season ticket, or participates in any Isledik competition or activity.
By registering for an event or purchasing any Isledik product, you confirm that you have read these terms and agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, please do not register or make a purchase.
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on our website at the time of your registration applies to that registration.
3. Eligibility
3.1 Age Players under the age of 16 may participate in free events and family-friendly tournaments when accompanied by a parent or guardian. For paid tournaments and memberships, the minimum age is 16. Some events may specify different age requirements — please check the individual event page before registering.
3.2 Registration To register for a paid event or purchase a membership, you must provide accurate and complete information. You are responsible for keeping your account details up to date. Isledik is not liable for issues arising from inaccurate information provided during registration.
3.3 Teams Team registrations must be submitted by a designated team captain, who is responsible for coordinating the team’s participation and ensuring all members are aware of these terms. Team sizes are limited to 2–6 players unless otherwise stated on the event page.
4. Events and registration
4.1 Free events Free events require no registration fee and no pre-registration unless stated otherwise. You are welcome to show up on the day. Space may be limited at some free events — we recommend arriving early.
4.2 Paid events Registration for paid events must be completed and payment confirmed through the Isledik website before the event. Registrations are not guaranteed until payment has been received. Prices are listed on each event page before registration opens. You will never encounter surprise charges on site.
4.3 Confirmation Once your registration is complete, you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive this within 24 hours, please check your spam folder. If you still cannot find it, contact us at info@isledik.org with your name and the name of the event.
4.4 Changes to events Isledik reserves the right to change the format, location, or schedule of an event. If a significant change is made after registration, we will notify all registered players by email as soon as possible. If a change makes the event unsuitable for you, you may request a refund in line with our cancellation policy.
4.5 Cancellation by Isledik If Isledik cancels an event for any reason, all registered players will receive a full refund within 5 business days. Where possible, we will also offer priority registration for the rescheduled event.
5. Pricing and payment
5.1 Pricing All prices are listed in pounds sterling (£). Prices include any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. The price at the time of registration is the price you pay — we will not charge more after the fact.
5.2 Payment Payments are processed through a third-party payment provider. Isledik does not store your card details or bank information. You will receive a transaction confirmation by email.
5.3 Memberships Monthly memberships renew automatically on your billing date each month. You can cancel at any time before your next billing date without penalty. No partial refunds are issued for unused months after billing has occurred.
5.4 Season tickets Season tickets cover a fixed 3-month competitive season. They are non-transferable. A full refund is available within 14 days of purchase, provided you have not yet attended any events. After 14 days or after attending your first event, the season ticket is non-refundable.
6. Cancellations and refunds
We understand that plans change. Our refund policy is designed to be fair to both players and to Isledik, which commits venue and organisational costs ahead of each event.
For free events, no payment is taken and no cancellation process is required.
For paid single-entry events, the following applies. If you cancel more than 48 hours before the event, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel between 24 and 48 hours before the event, you will receive a 50% refund. If you cancel less than 24 hours before the event or do not show up without prior notice, no refund will be issued.
For monthly memberships, you may cancel at any time before your next billing date. No partial refunds are issued for the remainder of a billing period that has already started.
For season tickets, a full refund is available within 14 days of purchase if you have not yet attended an event. After that point or after attending your first event, no refund is available.
Exceptional circumstances — such as serious illness or a family emergency — are considered on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us at info@isledik.org as soon as possible and we will do our best to act fairly.
7. Competition rules and conduct
7.1 Rules Full rules for each event are published on the individual event page before registration opens. By registering, you confirm that you have read and understood the rules for that event. There are no surprises on the day.
7.2 Fair play All participants are expected to play with respect for their opponents, spectators, and the games themselves. This means playing by the rules, accepting results gracefully, and contributing to a positive atmosphere for everyone in the room.
7.3 Disputes Disputes during an event will be resolved by a neutral referee appointed by Isledik. The referee’s decision is final during the event. Post-event appeals may be submitted to info@isledik.org within 48 hours of the event ending. We will review and respond within 5 business days.
7.4 Disqualification Isledik reserves the right to disqualify any participant who cheats, behaves in a manner that is disruptive or disrespectful to others, or breaches these terms. In cases of disqualification, no refund will be issued. Repeated or serious misconduct may result in a permanent ban from Isledik events.
8. Leaderboards and rankings
Leaderboard points are earned through participation in ranked events. Points are awarded based on placement. Higher-level events are worth more points. Your best 8 results of the season count toward your seasonal ranking — missing one event will not ruin your season.
Rankings reset at the start of each new season. Cumulative all-time rankings are kept separately and do not reset.
Free events do not count toward the main seasonal leaderboard, but do contribute participation points to your player profile.
Isledik reserves the right to correct errors in rankings or point calculations at any time. We will notify affected players when corrections are made.
9. Intellectual property
All content on isledik.org — including text, graphics, logos, event names, and the Isledik name itself — is the property of Isledik or is used with permission. You may not copy, reproduce, or use any of this content for commercial purposes without our written permission.
You may share links to our website and event pages freely.
10. Limitation of liability
Isledik organises events with reasonable care and in good faith. However, we cannot accept liability for personal injury, loss of property, or any other loss or damage arising from participation in Isledik events, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.
Isledik is not liable for the actions of third parties, including venue operators, payment providers, or other participants.
Our total liability to you in connection with any claim arising from these terms or your participation in Isledik events is limited to the amount you paid to Isledik for the specific event or product in question.
11. Privacy
Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at isledik.org. The Privacy Policy forms part of these terms and conditions.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or from your participation in Isledik events will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer and have a complaint that we have not been able to resolve directly, you may be able to use an alternative dispute resolution scheme. More information is available through the Citizens Advice Bureau at citizensadvice.org.uk.
